Katherine Kula, 97, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Born in Cementon, N.Y. on December 20, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Klarich) Chendo. She was the wife of the late Joseph Kula who died in 1994.
She was employed by Lucent as an inspector, retiring in 1978 after 27 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem; past president of the Altar & Rosary Society, Croatian Ladies Auxiliary and the Miller Heights School PTA. She was also an active volunteer for her political party. βTo leave the world a bit better, to know that even one life has breathed easier because you lived-that is to have succeeded.β
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Maryann Rudas and Nancy Kula;
six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Kula; four sisters and two brothers.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 First St., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
