Katherine M. Nagy

Katherine M. Kantor Nagy, 98, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Sacred Heart Senior Living in Center Valley, PA where she was being cared for by Heartland Hospice. Katherine was born in Bethlehem and was the daughter of the late Frank and Eva Zaun Kantor and the widow of George F. Nagy who died in 1996.

She was a 95 year member of St. John Capistrano R.C. Church in Bethlehem which was closed in 2008. Her father was one of the founders of the church when he immigrated to the United States from Austria Hungary. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Noodle Makers Guild, and served on the yearly bazaar committee.

She was currently a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Catholic Knights of St. George and Ladies Auxiliary of the Hungarian Catholic Club and served as president of both groups.

She was the last surviving charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lincoln Singing Society which was formed in 1945. She led the group for several years and also played on the shuffleboard team which was a member of the Bethlehem Club league.

Katherine will be lovingly remembered by a daughter Clara Petraglia and her husband Joseph C. of Bethlehem and a son George F. Nagy and his wife Dorothy of Coopersburg, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and four nieces and three nephews, seven great nieces and nephews and five great great nieces and nephews.

Katherine is predeceased by a sister Barbara Kotlik and three brothers Francis, Lawrence and Joseph Kantor.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, from 10-11AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Burial to follow Mass at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
