Katherine Yawney, 91, of Hellertown, died on Thursday, January 26, 2017. Born in Hellertown, she was the daughter of the late Ivan “John” and Mary (Csysczon) Rasich. She was the wife of the late Joseph Yawney who died in 1970.
Katherine worked in textiles, employed by the Schobel Brothers Necktie Factory and later the Lehigh Valley Throwing Mills. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where she spent many hours doing what she loved, cooking and baking. She was a member of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Maxine Ripper (Bill); siblings, Walter Rasich (Marie), Anna Herman (Harry), and Mary Williams (wife of the late Arthur); grandchildren, Nicole Zeiser (Tom) and Marc Ripper (Karina); great grandchildren, Cole and Kacey Zeiser; and sister-in-law, Mildred Rasich. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph A. Yawney; and brothers, Michael, John and Andrew Rasich.
Visitation will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4. An 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Incarnation of Our Lord Church, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, 18015. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Incarnation of Our Lord Parish.
