Kathleen Calvo Schulte, 63, of Easton, PA passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. Lukes Hospice House in Bethlehem, PA due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis, embolisms in her lungs, and pneumonia. Kathy struggled with MS for over 40 years and was strong throughout, always pushing forward and doing her best to work through her disease.
Born in Allentown, Kathy was the daughter of Ruth (Zimpher) Calvo and the late Rocco Calvo of Bethlehem. She was the wife of David Schulte and would have been married for 30 years on May 25th.
Kathy graduated from Moravian College in 1979 with a B.S. in computer science and worked as a software developer/administrator at AT&T/Lucent/IBM for over 20 years. In high school and college, she enjoyed riding her horse TR, playing oboe in the Freedom Band & Fife Core, and participated in Freedom Bands 50th reunion in 2017. She was also a member of the Nazareth Moravian Church, participating in the Nazareth Moravian Orchestra.
In 2005, Kathy and Dave adopted the best gift they ever received, their daughter Bethany, who is now 17. Kathy was so very proud of Bethany. In spite of her MS, Kathy took Bethany to hangouts with friends, summer sessions at the public library, and attended all her school events. Kathy especially loved watching Bethany play in the Easton Area Middle School and High School bands. Bethany was Kathys everything and she loved her more than words can say.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dave, daughter, Bethany, mother Ruth Calvo, brother, Rocky Calvo and wife Marianne, sister, Lois Calvo, nieces, Larisa Calvo, Amy Folk and husband Drew, and nephew, John (Rocky) Calvo and wife Maggie, as well as all of her riding friends and friends from school/work.
Kathy did not want a viewing, so there will be a private burial held at the Nazareth Moravian Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Nazareth Moravian Church at a future date when COVID-19 concerns are no longer an issue.
