Kathleen Mary Powers

Kathleen Mary Powers, 70, of Bethlehem died peacefully with her husband by her side on Sunday, April 9, 2017. She was born on September 30, 1946 in Boston, MA; daughter of the late James L. and Mary Elizabeth (Dillon) Mulvey. Kathleen was the loving wife of 48 years to Edward Joseph Powers.

Kathleen was retired after a long and rewarding career in school administration at the Hunterdon Learning Center in Califon, NJ. Kathleens faith was extremely important and she was a devout parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. She had the unique gift to listen, understand, and make everyone she met feel special. While she was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening, family was everything to Kathleen. She especially loved spending time with her five grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Edward; sons, Edward Joseph Powers, Jr. and his wife, Melissa; and Brendan Michael Powers and his wife, Nina all of Bethlehem; brothers, James Mulvey and his wife, Nancy of St. Paul, MN; Brian Mulvey and his wife, Ellen of Arlington, MA; and Robert Mulvey of St. Petersburg, FL; her sisters, Patricia Coughlin and her husband, Danny of West Dennis, MA; Mary Gilpin and her husband, George of Dennis, MA; Elizabeth Thebado and her husband, Jimmy of Weymouth, MA; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, EJ, Liam and Maggie, as well as all her nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by her sister, Anne and her brother, Brendan.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
