Kathleen Szulborski

Kathleen Szulborski, 96, of Fountain Hill, PA passed away on Saturday July 6, 2024, at Advanced Health Care of Hanover in Bethlehem, PA.

She was born in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late James and Agnes (Holmes) Hanley. She was the wife of the late William S. Szulborski. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, James and William and by two sisters, Frances and Patricia.

Kathleen was a lifelong member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church and 1947 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. She was known for her quick smile, warm heart and generous spirit. Her greatest joy came from creating for others. Her nimble fingers wielded crochet hooks with impressive speed and skill, crafting beautiful blankets that were not only functional but imbued with love. Family and friends will forever cherish these keepsakes. Kathleen also had a love for baking. Her signature cut-out cookies were legendary. The secret? A dough rolled impossibly thin, a feat no one else could quite master. These treats were not just delicious but a symbol of her love and care.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Frances Leahy and husband Tom, sister Mary Maco, grandchildren, Stephanie, Catie, Erich, Patrick, Brandon, and Tyler, and great grandchildren, Harrison, and Callie. She was predeceased by her son, William R. Szulborski, and daughter, Kathleen Gessitz.

A viewing will be held from 8:45am-9:45am on Friday July 12, 2024, at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. The burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.
