Kenneth A. McAfee, 80, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday June 7, 2006, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. Born, September 9, 1925 in Fountain Hill; he was the son of the late Kenneth F. and Anna Dollinger McAfee. He was the husband of the late Arlene Hawkey McAfee, who died in 1989.
Ken was employed by the Bethlehem Steel as a plant truck driver for 44 years, retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the Army serving during WWII. He was a life-time member of the Grover Cleveland and the 540 Democratic Club. He was also a life-time member and former vice president of the Rosemont Fire Company.
He is survived by: companion, Rose Weigner of Allentown; son, Kenneth F. husband of Lucille of Bethlehem; daughters, Lorrie A. McAfee and Connie Andrews, both of Bethlehem; grandson, Michael Andrews; step grandchildren, Thomas Mathews, Sr., Valerie and Carla Mathews; great-grandsons, Michael, Jr. and Tyler Andrews; step great-grandchildren; Anthony Womack, Thomas Mathews, Jr., Jeanette and April Mathews, and Erick Whaley. Ken was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Cerino.
Arrangements are being handled by Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St; Bethlehem, where visitation hours will be held on Sunday June 11th from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday June 12th from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Allentown.
