Lawrence J. Dottor

Lawrence J. Dottor, 92, passed away on March 29, 2023.

He was the son of Antonietta (Marcon) Dottor and Giovanni Dottor who came to America from Tarzo and Pervananzi in the foothills of the Alps in Northeastern Italy.

Mr. Dottor was a graduate of Muhlenberg College. After college, he served on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps and became a First Lieutenant.

He had a 45-year career in the investment business. He started as an investment analyst in the trust department of American Securities Corp. in Washington, D.C. Later he became a stockbroker with Hemphill Noyes & Co. and Smith Barney & Co. locally. He was a Vice President of Warren W. York & Co. where in addition to brokerage work he engaged in venture capital financing. In 1976 he founded and was President of Lehigh Securities Corporation, a self-clearing brokerage firm. After several years he sold the company to First Valley Bank and managed the firm for the bank until he retired.

Larry was an athlete. He played high school and college football. He came late to the game of golf but was a winner of several tournaments and had two holes-in-one at Saucon Valley Country Club where he was a member since 1973.

He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Albinka Sarvaic Dottor, M.D.; their daughter, Katrinka Dottor; his brother, Adelchi Dottor; and sisters, Yolanda Price and Florence Dottor.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanna D. Rogers; granddaughter, Krista Rogers; and son-in-law, Thomas Rogers of Newark, Delaware.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Annes Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Family and friends may call from 10 - 10:45 a.m. at the church that morning.

There will be a private burial at Holy Savior Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, 2755 Station Avenue, Center Valley, PA 18034.

Arrangements are under the care of the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., Bethlehem.
