Lawrence King

Lawrence King, 83, of Tower City, PA, and most recently of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Bethlehem Manor.

Born on June 16, 1941, in East Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Richard King and Dorothy Sterling, as well as late stepfather Alex Stirling.

Lawrence served in the National Guard Reserves and earned a bachelor's degree in photo journalism from Rutgers University. As a Salesman throughout the years, he worked with Brookline Machines, sold International and White Trucks, and bought a Bachman's Chips route. He also played the banjo and was a member of the Sons of the Whiskey Rebellion band in his younger years.

Lawrence was a lover of music, the outdoors, and vehicles of all kinds -trains, trucks, planes, and cars-especially his 39' Buick Limousine. He loved to drive through the country and ride his bicycle, exploring old rail routes and historical buildings.

Lawrence had attained over 40 years of sobriety and dedicated much of his time to Alcoholics Anonymous, setting up meetings for those in need as well as attending regular meetings.

He will be dearly missed by his two daughters, Margaret Grace King and Rebecca Kindergan and her husband, Brian; former wife, Connie King; and his grandson, Ethan Caleb Pedersen.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 1-2:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
