Lee F. Gassert, Jr., 67, of Reading, PA died on Sunday at St. Joseph?s Medical Center in Reading.
Lee, a child of a career U.S. Army father, was born in Columbus, GA. He is the son of the late Lee Gassert, Sr. and Merle Legler Gassert.
After graduating from high school in Germany he entered the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country serving on the U.S.S. Boxer during the Viet Nam Conflict.
Lee worked for Black and Decker for several years and later worked for Graco Children Products, Inc. in the Reading area retiring in 2005.
Lee, a humble, compassionate and generous gentleman, truly enjoyed the simplicity of nature the love of animals and was a happy and a Gentle Man content with life.
He will be dearly missed by his sister: Lynn Albarell and her husband Michael of Bethlehem and his niece Alison Haney.
The family will receive friends on Thursday 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 P.M. at the Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad Street Bethlehem, PA followed by a brief service at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in Lee?s name to the Humane Society of Berks County 1801 N. 11th St. Reading PA 19604.
