Leo F. Barth

Leo F. Barth, 84, of Bethlehem, passed away at Manor Care Heath Services in Bethlehem. He was the son of the late Leo and Hermina Sommers Barth. He was the husband of Rose DiFulvio Barth. They would have been married for 63 years this October.

Leo worked as a security guard for Western Electric in Allentown retiring in 1986. He was a veteran in the US Army 4th Field artillery serving during WWII in Manila, Philippines. He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.

Leo loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, and fisherman. He enjoyed getting his favorite dog Louie to talk. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed the company of his granddaughters, and was referred to by his great grandchildren as Big P-Pop.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, daughter, Linda Young wife of Ray of Bethlehem, granddaughters, Emily and Ellen, great grandchildren twins, Leo and Mya. In addition he will be remembered by his sisters, Louise Kunsman wife of Truman of Catasauqua, and Dorothy Bedics of Bethlehem, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Leo Jr., brother, Raymond, and sister, Bernie.

A prayer service will be held 10:15AM on Monday August 29, 2011 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church 1860 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. A viewing will be held 9:15AM-10:15AM Monday morning at the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame Church or to Rotary District 7430 Rotoplast Committee to support cleft lip and palate surgeries for children 1050 Sunset View Circle Bethlehem, Pa. 18017.
