Leonor Esperias

Leonor Esperias, 66, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at her residence; surrounded by her loving family after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Guatemala City on November 8, 1946; daughter of the late Roberto and Fidelina (DeLeon) Alonzo.

She retired from Leevie Manufacturing Co. after 26 years of service as an assembly line worker in New York. Leonor will be remembered for her fun and outgoing personality, her kind and giving spirit and her courage to never give up.

Leonor will be deeply missed by her husband, Amado A. Esperias; daughters, Alma R. Quinto wife of Cesar of Bethlehem; Rosa Melgara wife of Luis of FL and Eugenia Caban wife of Alberto of Bethlehem; sons, Roberto Esperias of NY and Nestor Esperias of NJ and stepson Julio Esperias of Guatemala. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Barney, Snyder, Lourdes, Erick, Tamara, Bryan, Emily, Destiny, Hailey, Danny, Jessica, Sandy and Julio; her sister, Amelia Alonzo of Bethlehem; brothers, Miguel of Guatemala; Enrique of Brooklyn; Antonio of DE; Amadeo of Brooklyn; sisters-in-law, Betty, Myra and Mary and several nieces and nephews. Leonor was preceded in death by her sisters, Marta Alonzo and Lidia Cuyan and her brother, Oscar Alonzo.

A visitation will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9PM on Friday, July 19, 2013. Another visitation will be held on Saturday at holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 from 9-10:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place, Suite. 170 Bethlehem, PA 18017.
