Lewis F. Stauffer

Lewis F. "Buddy" Stauffer, 84 of Bethlehem died Saturday morning January 26th in St. Luke's Hospital Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township.

Lewis was the husband of the late Josephine (Carisio) Kozul Stauffer who died in 1993.

Born in Bingen, PA he is the son of the late Howard and Mary (Fox) Stauffer.

Lewis worked for 38 years for Bethlehem Steel Company retiring in 1990 as a loader.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lower Saucon Township.

Lewis proudly served with the U. S. Navy during WW II and later with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the AFL CIO of the United Steel Workers Union local 2599.

Lewis was an active and an enjoyable person to be around. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening, and card playing. He had a great wit and loved storytelling and was known by friends and family as "Pop Pop".

He will be dearly missed by his son Lewis D. Stauffer of Lancaster, PA, his daughter Josephine wife of John Bodock of Hamburg, PA, in addition to his brother Andrew and his sisters Eleanor wife of Charles Weierbach and Marie Check, his five grandchildren Catherine, Michael, Alison, Jason and Erin and his great grandson Edward.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Roberta (Kozul) Perez and Nicki (Kozul) Lance, and his brothers William Stauffer and Harold Dresher.

A funeral service will begin at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and followed with continued services at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church 2190 Easton Road Bethlehem, PA 18015.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA
