Lila Lee Robey

August 9, 1927 — July 23, 2012

Lila Lee Robey, 84, of Allentown passed away peacefully, Monday, July 23rd 2012 at her residence. During her final days she was surrounded by her loving family. Lila was born on Aug 9, 1927 in St Mary's WV, the youngest of nine children. She was the daughter of the late Charles Leslie and Ethel Della (Meanor) Brown.

Lila was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, SFC Howard Nelson Robey, US Army Retired. They were married in 1946 in Marietta, Ohio where they lived for nearly 10 years.

Lila was first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband spent much of their life in service to their country during which time he served in Europe, Southeast Asia, and bases across the US following his service during WWII. She enjoyed the outdoors and had a special love for all animals. She often referred to herself as "just a country girl" and loved to reminisce about her early years on their farm in West Virginia.

She is survived by her daughters, Diana L. and her husband Richard Celmer of Allentown, PA, Sheryl L. and her husband Casey Reed of Summerville, SC, and her son William L (Bill) Robey and wife Elizabeth of The Woodlands, Texas. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren; Shani Medlar, Alia Marsteller, Amanda Brady, Chris Robey, Kimberly Lan, Madyson Reed, Connor Reed, Callen Reed as well as 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Lila's life will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18108 on Thursday July 26, 2012 at 8PM. Friends may visit the family from 6PM to 8PM.
