Lois J. Debellis

Lois J. DeBellis, 83, of Bethlehem Township passed away peacefully in her home Friday, September 25, 2015. She was born July 15, 1932 in Easton, the daughter of the late Dorothy (Bickel) and Gilbert Carney. She was married to Alfonse “Al” M. DeBellis for 57 years until his death on April 22, 2011. Lois worked as an RN at St. Lukes Hospital for 40 years. She was a 1953 graduate of St. Lukes School of Nursing. Lois was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miller Heights, and the St. Francis Fraternity, where she volunteered and served as lay Eucharistic Minister. Lois shared her love of cats and the elderly through pet therapy at nursing homes. Lois was an avid gardener, reader, knitter, and a fine cook.

Lois was the rock of support and wisdom for her children, and her life will be honored through their lives. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Edward DeBellis, Stephen DeBellis and wife Jill, Robert DeBellis and wife Mary, daughter, Kathleen DeBellis Leotti and fianc, Steven Parano, brother, Roger Carney and sister, Jeanne Hockenbery. She will also be remembered by her 11 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her brother Gilbert Carney.

Services: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, First St., Bethlehem, Pa. 18020. A calling period will be held from 9:30-10am Saturday morning at the church. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made in Loiss name to the St. Francis Retreat House 3928 Chipman Rd., Easton, PA 18045.
