Lorraine Collins, 80, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, April 18, 2008, at
Old Orchard Health Services.
She was born October 14, 1927, in Wilkes Barre, PA, the daughter of the
late Edward and Hilda Powell Lewis.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, James P. Collins, Jr.,
on May 3, 2007.
She was a graduate of Liberty High School, where she excelled in softball
and basketball.
Lorraine worked in customer service for several retail stores in
the area for many years, including Bradlees, from which she retired in 2001.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem.
Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughters, Susan C.
Sillivan and her husband Rusty; Mimi Collins and her husband Michael
Bouchier, and Lori C. Gilmartin and her husband Fred, all of Bethlehem. She
is also survived by her grandchildren Mara, Ryan, Seamus, Erin, Caitlin,
Aislinn, and Michael; and great-granddaughter, Emma; and several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Edward and Warren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. at
Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, and again on
Wednesday April 23, 2008, from 10-11 a.m. with a service to celebrate
Lorraine's life to follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
