Lorraine Gabellini

October 20, 1928 — September 29, 2008

Lorraine Rosenberger Gabellini, 79 of Bethlehem died Monday September 29th at her home. She and her husband John celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary last year.

Born in Spinnerstown, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Grace Rosenberger. Lorraine graduated from the University of Miami earning a degree in Marine Biology.

After graduation she returned to the Lehigh Valley and worked as a medical and lab technician for Allentown Hospital, Cedarbrook in Allentown and for Laros Labs in Bethlehem.

She was a very vibrant and passionate woman and loved being around nature and the sea. She and John moved to West Barnstable, MA in 1991 where she enjoyed helping others. She became an active member of First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable, worked at The Jam Kitchen, the Hospice of Cape Cod and several volunteer organizations. She absolutely loved being with her family and friends in Cape Cod, preparing dinners, gardening and simply enjoying the beach. She and John moved back to the Lehigh Valley in 2005 settling in Bethlehem in order to be closer to family. She continued her passion for gardening and entertaining friends and family.

Surviving with her husband are two sons; Christopher of Allentown, Pa., Michael and his wife Nancy of New York City, her daughter Kimberly Gabellini of San Francisco, brothers Thomas Rosenberger of Sullivan County, Pa. and Donald Rosenberger of Three Springs Pa., and her two special granddaughters Giuliana and Chiara. She was preceded in death by her brother Ralph.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 4th at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Spinnerstown, Pa. Directions to cemetery: Rt 309 to Quakertown 663 West, Right on Spinnerstown Road and left at Spinnerstown Hotel.

Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa.
