Lorraine Goncalves

Lorraine (Fernandes) Goncalves, 82, of Hellertown, PA died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in her home surrounded by her family. Born December 2, 1931 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Deolinda (Pereira) Fernandes and Julio Fernandes. She was married to John Goncalves with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage this pass September 5th.

Lorraine worked for the former Dora Lee Manufacturing and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She had a passion for Bingo and playing slots. She also loved her trips to Florida and the time she spent there with her family. Lorraine was a member of St. Theresas of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church.

She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Olimpio Fernandes and wife Bernadine of Bethlehem and Joseph Fernandes and wife Barbara of Allentown, sisters-in-law, Helen wife of Fernando Soares and Alice Figueiredo and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her especially her godchildren, Dave Soares, Susie Repsher and Marques Repsher.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church 1408 Easton Rd., Hellertown, PA 18055 at 12 PM. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
