Lorraine M. Reiss

Lorraine M. Major Reiss, 74 , of Bethlehem, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's located in Center Valley. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Balkum Major both of Bethlehem. Lorraine was preceded by her husband, the late Leon H. Reiss.

Lorraine was a graduate of Liberty High School. She was employed by Western Electric and the former Groman's Bakery located in Bethlehem. She also enjoyed being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, along with reading and attending church activities. Lorraine was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Caroline A. Frable of Bethlehem and Jacquelyn L. Gidlewski of Point Pleasant, PA. She is also survived by her sister Marlene Szvetecz of Weaversville, Northampton County, four grandsons, two granddaughters and a great granddaughter.

She was preceded by her brother Andrew R. Major.

Visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18017 at 10:00 AM.

Burial following Mass will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery
