Lorraine Mcgorry

Lorraine McGorry, 89, of Bethlehem, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Kirkland Village, Bethlehem. For 59 years she was the wife of Cletus McGorry who passed away in 1996. Born in Berlinsville, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Marion Oplinger Minnich. She was predeceased by a sister Virginia Geoppert and a brother Clarence Jack Minnich.

A graduate of Slatington High School and the Bethlehem Business College, she was employed in the Sales Department of Bethlehem Steel where she achieved an executive secretarial position. She was a member of the Woman's League of Bethlehem and the Junior Woman's Club where she held leadership positions. As a 59 year member of Christ Church UCC, Bethlehem, she was thankful for and active in church programs; Fifty Five Plus, and Church Fellowship. She was also a member of Ss. Simon and Jude's Senior Club. She enjoyed golf, was an avid card player; bridge clubs, poker and pinochle circles. Lorraine had many friends and a family who will miss her dearly and will always remember her.

She was at Moravian Village for a year and her final days at St. Luke's Hospice House and Kirkland Village. The family is thankful for the thoughtful and loving care she received.

Survivors: Sister, Lucille, wife of Stephen Chehi, Bethlehem PA.: Nephew, Mark Chehi husband of Johanna, and their children, Stephen and Ericka, all of Greenville, DE; Nephew, Robert Chehi husband of Evelyn, and their daughter, Mary Kate, all of Moorefield, WV, Niece, Janet Tillman wife of James, and their daughter, Melissa all of York, PA.; Niece, Susan J. Greb of Berlinsville, PA and her daughter Stacy Knecht wife of Ryan, and their children, Daniel and Ambrose, of Northampton, PA, Niece, Terry A. Miller of Madison, WI, and Niece, Liann Himmelwright of Bloomsburg, PA.
