Lorraine R. Fondl

Lorraine R. Fondl, 86, of Bethlehem died on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was born on September 12, 1930 in Bethlehem; daughter of the late Hugh and Louise (Holletz) McFadden. Lorraine was the devoted wife of 58 years to her husband, the late Rudolph Fondl.

Lorraine dedicated her life to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church and was a member of the 55+ Club. Lorraine enjoyed playing pinochle and she was an avid bowler; bowling with the Alley Cats up until she was 84 years of age. One of Lorraines favorite passions was traveling with her husband, Rudy. The two traveled the globe, visiting 45 states and 40 countries over their lifetime.

Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her, sons, Mark Fondl and his wife, Suzanne of Haverhill, MA; and Gary Fondl and his wife, Cathy of Frisco, CO; daughters, Karen Benway and Christine Fondl both of Bethlehem; a brother, Raymond McFadden; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Brian and Jeffrey Fondl and her sister, Bertha McFadden.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again on Saturday from 8:00-9:15 a.m at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
