Louis Lucas Jr. 65, of Bethlehem, passed away at home Wednesday, May 18th, 2011. He was the son of Louis Lucas of Miller Heights deceased and Mary Resetar Lucas of Bethlehem.
Lou was a graduate of Liberty High School year of 63 and went on to earn his Bachelor Degree in Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1969. He returned home to Bethlehem and briefly took on a Managerial position with the retail store, Two Guys of Bethlehem before moving on to a position in customer care for Aetna Life Insurance. He continued to work for Aetna until his early retirement in 2002. For those of you who were fortunate enough to have known "JR" he was a loving and easygoing guy. He devoted much of his time to his Family and loved the thrill of horse racing. He had a passion for the written word and was very seldom found without a book in hand. Lou came out of retirement in 2004 and until his demise worked part time at Valley Farms in Bethlehem and also took care of his beloved Mother.
Lou is survived by his Mother, Mary and Brother, Ron Chris Lucas of Palm Springs.
Viewing hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday May 25th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
