Louis John Horwath

Louis John Horwath, 67, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was born in Fountain Hill, son of the late Louis James Horwath and Anna (Schultz) Horwath. Lou is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Deborah L. (Barron) Horwath.

Lou was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1968 and Penn State University where he earned an associates degree in electrical engineering in 1970. He was an Eagle Scout and proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Lou retired in 2006 after 34 years as an electrical designer for Mack Trucks, UAW Local 677. He was a member of the West Side Republican Club and the Rosemont Fire Company.

Lou will be dearly missed by his wife, Deb; daughter, Jennifer and husband, David; son, Daniel and wife, Cheryl; sister, Anna Vargo and husband, James; brother, Stephen Farkas and wife, Roberta; grandchildren, Tyler and Tanner Kuder and Danica and Dylan Horwath; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a service to immediately follow in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be held at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
