Louis Robert Gombosi

Louis Robert "Gates" Gombosi, 85, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Holy Family Manor. He was born January 7, 1927 in Bethlehem; son of the late John and Rose (Rainer) Gombosi. Louis is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Judith Gombosi.

He was a graduate of Liberty high School and the Bethlehem Business College. Louis was an Administrative Assistant for Congressman Fred B. Rooney and he also worked for Pentamation in Bethlehem.

Louis was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He served on the South Bethlehem Volunteer Fireman's Assoc.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Judy; stepson, Larry Bauder, Jr.; his brother John Gombosi and his sister Anne Brandafi, all of Bethlehem. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Louis was preceded in death by his sisters, Molly Horvath; Margaret Horvath and Helen Devers; a brother Steve and his beloved golden retriever, Buddy.

Louis thoroughly enjoyed fishing in the Thousand Islands with his friends. He will be remembered for his generosity, thoughtfulness and warm, always happy personality.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Connell Funeral Home and will be private at the convenience of the family.
