Louise T. Sauers

June 5, 1908 — August 25, 2012

Louise T. Sauers, 104, of Freemansburg, (recently of Holy Family Manor) went home to her Lord August 25 after a brief illness. Lucy was the daughter of Joseph and Louisa (Kravatz) Kugler of Freemansburg.

Louise had a generous heart, an active interest in people, and enjoyed many relationships built over her lifetime. She was not only mother to her only child, Robert, but was his best friend, confidant, and counselor.

Her faith inspired her life and actions. Throughout her adult life she was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church, Miller Heights, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Sodality.

Until her death, she was the oldest native-born resident of Freemansburg - a distinction in which she took great pride. She was equally proud of being a member of the War Mothers during WWII. She and other mothers rolled bandages for the Red Cross and visited with the servicemen at Coatesville Veterans Hospital.

Even though her passing will leave a void in the lives of her loved ones, her spirit will live in the hearts of all of us, and will comfort us. We can all be comforted knowing that she is with her husband Tony Sauers, former Chief of Police of Freemansburg, and her loving son, Robert.

Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband Tony and son, Robert; sisters, Alma Huk and Isabella Lobo of Caracas, Venezuela; brothers, William and Joseph Kugler.

Survivors are nieces, Christina Huk Jansen of New Hampshire and Margaret Firestone ; nephews, William Huk of Center Valley, David Lobo M.D. of Venezuela, and Michael Sauers; daughter-in-law, Emilia L. Sauers of North Whitehall.
