Lucinda Aleixo passed away on Monday, January 5, 2009 at Agape Nursing Home. She was born on November 14, 1924 in Palmerton, PA and spent most of her childhood years in Portugal. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luis Gaspar. Mrs. Aleixo was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lexington, SC.

Mrs. Aleixo worked for many years as a sewing machine operator in Pennsylvania before her retirement. She moved to South Carolina after the death of her husband, Salvador Aleixo, to spend time with her daughter, Dolores Crowe and granddaughter, Christina Crowe, who were her life. She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing and gardening.

Lucinda is survived by a daughter, Dolores Crowe and a granddaughter, Christina Crowe and by her favorite niece and honorary daughter, Marie Roper and by many relatives in Portugal, Pennsylvania and Canada.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, 1/10/09 at 11:00AM in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Lexington, SC and Connell Funeral Home in Bethlehem, PA. Memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2350 Augusta Hwy., Lexington, SC 29072 or Carolina Wildlife Care, 5551 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Special thanks to the staff at Agape Nursing Home on Leaphart Road for the years of loving care and to Agape Hospice Care for all their help.
