Lucy Annette Mcintyre

Lucy Annette Cadden McIntyre, 79, of Bethlehem, PA died on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at St.Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem.

Born January 2, 1927 in Mauch Chunk, PA, she was the daughter of the late John R. & Violet Eckhart Cadden.

Lucy married Hugh J. McIntyre on June 9, 1951, 55 years ago.

Lucy loved life and was able to find the beauty in each day. She had an air of genuine sweetness about her and a great sense of humor. She was a gracious hostess, always ready to cook or bake for family, neighbors and friends. Lucy enjoyed a day at the beach or gardening, but most of all attending her grandchildren's activities and sporting events. She was a 1945 graduate of Mauch Chunk Catholic High School. She was employed by the former Bell Telephone / Western Electric Co. as a switchboard and layout operator for 25 years before retiring in 1977. She was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. In retirement, she worked for State Farm and Piercing Pagoda. She was a 43 year member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

SURVIVORS In addition to her husband Hugh, she will be lovingly remembered by her son Dennis McIntyre of Bethlehem, daughter Mary Ann Angelo and husband Ettore of Quakertown, brother John R. Cadden of Allentown, sister Virginia Llewellyn of Jim Thorpe, Niece Peggy Castronova and husband Thomas of Easton, and 5 grandchildren Daniel Patrick & Michael Hugh McIntyre and Megan Lucy, Mark & Gregory Angelo.

She was preceded in death by an infant son Michael and sisters Teresa Marzen, Jean Kane, Ann Clements, Margaret O'Donnell and Dorothy McLaughlin.

SERVICES

Visitation will be at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 AM. Burial will be private at convenience of the family. Connell Funeral Home, Inc. Bethlehem, are handling all arrangements.
