Luke J. Snell, 81, died August 12, 2014 at Westminster Village in Allentown, after a long courageous battle with Parkinson s Disease. Born November 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Luke John and Ida (Ducksta) Snell. He was married to Florence T. (Romanski) Snell with whom he celebrated 57 years this past April 27th. Luke proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and Schlumberger, formerly Daystrom Technologies, He also worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Eynon VFW and American Legion and also the Eynon Rod and Gun Club. Luke played baseball for the U.S. Army during the Korean War and minor league baseball for the Cincinnati Reds. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved jogging, biking and swimming; and tennis.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, Lori, wife of Kevin McDonald and Lynn, wife of Brian Regan; his sisters, Eleanor Yesalavage, Patricia, wife of Bill Bohn and Joan Stauskas; and his five grandchildren, Michael, Leanne, Kevin, Kerry and Shawn; and his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amanda McDonald; and his brother-in-law and bestfriend, Paul “Chasie” Yesalavage.

A viewing will be held at Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 411 Church St., Archabald, PA 18403 on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 1:30-2:30 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 PM. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Eynon, PA. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem, PA.
