Maggie Cummings

July 27, 1949 — January 1, 2022

Maggie Cummings, 72, of Bethlehem, died on January 1, 2022. She was born in Bethlehem on July 27, 1949. Maggie will be remembered as a caring and thoughtful person, who loved with a passion. She touched many lives by living so selflessly. Her passion was to help others. As a lifelong educator, counselor, and mentor, Maggie achieved great success in connecting with her students. She also served as a licensed social worker and counselor for the Wiley House, Northampton Community College, and Allentown College. More recently she worked as a learning specialist at Muhlenberg College.

Maggie enjoyed golfing, knitting, and the beach. But her greatest enjoyment was found in serving as neighborhood mother, providing an open door and full refrigerator for friends of her children.

Maggie was a 1967 graduate of Liberty High School, where she was captain of the girls basketball team. She earned her degree in sociology from High Point University, and Masters degrees from Marywood University, and Lehigh University.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Kevin Cummings; three sons, Patrick, Shawn, and Christopher; two grandsons and two granddaughters; and one grandchild due in 2022. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Peter T. and Grace A. Amberg.
