Manuel Da Silva

Manuel “Manny” Da Silva, 80, of Bethlehem passed away in his home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was born in Oliveria De Azemeis, Portugal, the son of the late Etelvina (Silva) and Alberto Da Silva. For 36 years, he was the loving husband of Damasa (Castro) Da Silva who passed away on June 25, 2021.

Manny immigrated from Portugal to the United States in the late 1970s by himself. He was a member of Local 472 as a pipelayer for many years before his retirement. For over 45 years, Manny was a very active member at the Portuguese American Club in Bethlehem. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, cooking and was a huge Benfica soccer fan. Nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Elizabeth Da Silva and partner, Micael Rocha and Veronica Da Costa and her husband, Joseph; granddaughter, Sofia Da Silva; step granddaughter, Victoria Rocha; 2 sisters; 2 nieces and 4 nephews.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service to follow at 4 p.m.
