Margaret A. Sharkey

Margaret A. “Peggy” Sharkey, 84, of Bethlehem Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Catherine (Bower) Nelson. She was the wife of Jack Sharkey; they were married for 64 years. Peggy was employed by St. Lukes Hospital where she worked in telecommunications and retired a supervisor after 42 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem Twp.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jack; son, John and wife Jill; daughters, Catherine Warfield, Mary Hurtt and Patti Cope and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Frank McGimpsey, Michael Warfield, Lisa Anderson, Daniel Cope, Megan Hubbuch, Kate Yurasits and Courtney Franchio; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lucas, Jack, Elsie, Henry, Julian and Grayce.

Viewing hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27 in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem and on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 1st St., Bethlehem Twp. An 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
