Margaret A. Valek

Margaret A. Valek, 87, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Country Meadows in Bethlehem.

She was born July 8, 1920 in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Daday Lipka.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Joseph S. Valek.

She retired in 1980 from the former Hess's Dept. Store where she worked as a Sales Clerk. Peggy previously worked for the Bethlehem Steel Co. as a Clerk.

Peggy was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem where she participated in the Sodality. She was also a member of the National Sokols Wreath 66.

Peggy dedicated her life to her family, Daughter Maryjean, wife of William E. Haberl Ed.D. of Bethlehem; sons, Joseph W. S. Valek of Sumner, WA; David J. Valek husband of Lisa of Bethlehem and James J. Valek of Bethlehem. Peggy is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Krista, Jeff, Brian, Jennifer, Heather, Becky, and Michael as well as two great grandchildren, Dylan and Jack and her sister Elizabeth Geldon of Bethlehem.

Peggy was predeceased by her sisters Helen Ender and Anna Check and brothers, Joseph, Andrew & Francis Lipka.

SERVICES

Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Friday, May 30, 2008 from 6-8 PM and Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 8:30-9:30AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anne's Catholic Church on Saturday May 31, 2008 at 10 AM

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
