Margaret B. Sawyer

Margaret “Marge” B. Sawyer ,89, of Bethlehem passed away Friday March 27, 2015 at St. Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem. She was born on December 7, 1925 in Bethlehem, daughter of the late William and Barbara (Ripper) Ortwein. She was the wife of the late Thomas Sawyer Jr. They were married for 48 years. Marge worked at the Lantern Restaurant for 20 years, and also was a committed volunteer at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. Marge was also a faithful and devoted member of Ss. Simon & Jude Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Thomas Sawyer of Allentown, Jeffrey Sawyer and wife Patricia of Virginia, and Robert Sawyer and wife Mary Bea of Hanover Twp., Pa., daughters, Barbara Hill and husband Don of Nashville, TN, and Marybeth Romberger and husband Scott of Middletown, Pa., daughter in law, Maureen Sawyer of Allentown, sisters, Rosemary Ortwein and Lucille Bringenberg, 20 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, William Sawyer, brothers, William, Robert, and Michael Ortwein, and sisters, Sister Catherine Ortwein and Barbara Gallucci.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Tuesday March 31, 2015 at Ss. Simon & Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. A viewing will be held from 7-9pm Monday evening at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018
