Margaret C. "Moxie" Miller

Margaret C. “Moxie” Miller, 104, of Bethlehem passed away on May 8, 2023. Born on July 31, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Caroline (Ruisz) and John Bauer. She was the wife of the late G. Kenneth Miller.

She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and intelligent, self-motivated, woman. She was courageous and certainly possessed a unique charm. Moxie enjoyed Penn State football, working with flowers in her garden club, and playing the piano. Moxie was a member of Grace Church Bethlehem for as many years as she was able. Moxie was a member of the First Presbyterian Churchs Circle Group.

Moxie graduated from Allentown High School and Penn State University. Her passion for education led her to work for Bethlehem Area School District for 21 years, serving as the home economics teacher at Northeast Middle School and Freedom High School. During that time, Moxie returned to Penn State University to earn her masters degree.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Judith C. Miller, and son, Lance K. Miller and wife, Valerie. Moxie was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Mies. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Thomas J. Mies; sister, Carole Farrell; grandchildren, Samantha, Kelsey, Josephine, and Zach; and great-grandchildren, Delaney, and Harper. A brother, Fritz Bauer and sisters, Gertrude Schmoyer and Verna Pintavalle previously passed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Grace Church Bethlehem, 4301 Hecktown Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Church. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
