Margaret Ellen Denzel

Margaret Ellen Denzel, 80, of Bethlehem passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at Arden Court with her family by her side. Born in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Littleton Harmon Smith and Margaret Ralston McCreadie Smith.

Margaret was a graduate of Parsons College in Iowa and received her master's degree in Education from Drexel University. She worked for North Penn and Bethlehem School Districts as an elementary school Librarian. In Margaret's free time she enjoyed reading, going to the beach and traveling all over the world. Known as Mimi to her grandchildren, she truly loved being with them and attending their sporting events, concerts, and plays.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Stephen Denzel and wife, Catherine, Andrew Denzel and wife Meghann, and Sarah Gallagher and husband, Edward, brother, David, sisters; Paula and husband, Abe, and Kathie and husband, Doug, and sister-in-law, Cheri. and her grandchildren; Henry, Alexander, Jacqueline, Allison, Caroline, Anderson, and Lauren. Margaret is also survived by several, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Andy.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, from 10-11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
