Margaret Jane Niechwiadowicz

Margaret Jane Niechwiadowicz, 87, died October 4 at St. Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem. Daughter of Bertha and John McCarthy, she was born on January 22, 1927 in Bethlehem, PA. She was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. She and her husband Edward resided in Bethlehem and celebrated 65 years of marriage in May.

Margaret found great joy in the close and loving relationship she shared with each of her grandchildren. Her kind words of encouragement and calming presence will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Margaret enjoyed baking fruit pies, Christmas cookies and other delicious treats for her family. She sang soprano in the choir at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish for more than forty years.

Beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by her husband Ed; children: Bonnie and Chris Getz, Ed Niechwiadowicz, Jr. and Corliss Bachman, John and Deanna Niechwiadowicz; grandchildren: Jeremy Getz and Cathleen Mack, John and Laurie Getz, Maggie and Preston Klingseis and Erik, Hallie, and Meagan Niechwiadowicz; siblings: Ellen and Paul Bauder, Edward McCarthy, Sr., Mrs. Betty McCarthy, and Jean and Milton Hoff. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Caitlyn Margaret Niechwiadowicz.

Services: A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020 from 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home, Inc.
