Margaret L. Baliko

Margaret L. (Kroboth) Baliko, 90, died on Sunday, October 26th, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Bethlehem, PA. Born in Bethlehem, PA, on March 8th, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Skerlak) Kroboth of Hellertown. She was the devoted wife of Richard Baliko of Bethlehem, PA. Margaret was a parishioner of St. John Capistrano Catholic Church. Margaret, in her younger days, worked in various mills in Bethlehem. She was a member of the ILGWU.

Survivors: husband, Richard of Bethlehem; sons, Richard Jr. and Joseph, and daughter, Cynthia; her grandchildren; sisters, Stella Harryn and Elilzabeth Kroboth of Hellertown, and Erma Chuck of Bethlehem; various nieces and nephews; and dear friends, especially Erma Nagy of Bethlehem. A very special thank you to her health care team and her charge nurse, John Hornberger.

Margie, as she was known, was a kind, loving and generous soul who would gladly do for others before thinking of herself. Among her many talents, she loved to bake, sew and do handicrafts. However, one of her greatest joys was working with children through volunteer services. What she did best, however, was be an amazing wife to her husband, Richard, for 67 years. Their devotion and love for one another was always evident, and truly an inspiration for all who knew them. She will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Annes Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the family c/o funeral home.
