Margaret M. Mclaughlin

Margaret Marge McLaughlin, 80, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Hospice House of St. Luke's in Lower Saucon Twp. She was born June 5, 1927 in East Mauch Chunk, PA, the daughter of the late George and Sophia Lesisko Kochmar.

Margaret attended St. Joseph's School and East Mauch Chunk High School. She left school during World War 11 to work as a welder for Eastern Aircraft in Trenton, NJ. She married Edward "Rod" McLaughlin in 1946. During the first few years of marriage, Margaret and her husband lived in Jersey City, NJ. She worked as a buyer for Dorinson Ladies Apparel. Margaret and "Rod" then moved to Bethlehem in 1953 where she became a homemaker and raised two daughters. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church of Bethlehem.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Edward "Rod" McLaughlin of Bethlehem; daughters, Kathy McLaughlin of Bethlehem; Diane Sigers of Cache, OK; sister, Rita Shanfelt of Jim Thorpe; three grandsons, John, Matthew and David and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward, Vernon, Joseph & George Kochmar, Jr. and a sister Juliana Ayers.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Monday, May 19, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem. Visitation will be from 11-12:15 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.
