Margaret M. Willey

September 19, 1921 — February 15, 2009

Margaret Terr Willey, 87, of Bethlehem, died Sunday, February 15, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Veronica Wiengartner Terr and the wife of Edward V. Willey for 59 years of Bethlehem.

She was a member of St. Ursula's Catholic Church where she served as a church greeter and a member of the women's guild and also served on several committees. She was a member of the Golden Hillers.

Margaret graduated from Liberty High School in 1939 and was the Valedictorian of the class. She graduated from Moravian College in 1943 and was elected to the who's Who among students in America. Margaret received an associate degree in the Ferrous Metallurgy from Penn State College. Margaret worked at the Bethlehem Plant as a metallurgist in the Mill an the main Laboratory for ten years. Later Margaret worked for the Research Department of Bethlehem Steel for 20 years.

In retirement she joined the Bethlehem Garden Club and the Lehigh Valley Rose Society. Her hobbies included growing Hybrid and immature roses and also harvesting Monarch butterflies.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her husband Edward V. Willey of Bethlehem, sons Edward V. Willey, Jr. and his wife Paula of Egg Harbor, NJ and Thomas of Bethlehem, daughter Eileen Singleton and husband Scott of Houston Texas and two grandchildren James Willey and Lorraine Singleton. Margaret is predeceased by her parents and three sisters Veronica Robinson, Rose Socker and Catherine Terr.

Friends may call at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad St., Bethlehem on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Ursula's Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Fountain Hill, PA 18015 followed by burial at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Ursula's Catholic Church.
