Margarita Torres

Margarita Torres de Ortiz, 88, of Bethlehem; died on Thursday, March 08, 2012, at Good Shepherd.

She was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico; on June 4, 1923, daughter of the late Pedro and Ofelia Torres Ortiz.

Margarita is survived by her husband of 72 years, Luis Torres.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and dedicated grandmother.

Margarita will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Peggy DeLong and her husband, Terry, of Colorado; Evelyn Belzner and her husband, Stephen, of Jim Thorpe, PA; Maria Torres of South Carolina and Patricia Cuevas and her husband, Rafael, of Bethlehem. She will also be dearly missed by her sister, Virginia Ortiz, of Florida; her 12 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.

Margarita was preceded in death by her daughter, Geraldine, sons, Luis Anthony and Humberto Torres, her sisters, Leonor and Josfina and her brothers, Juan and Vincente.

The family will receive friends TONIGHT Friday, March 9, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A ceremony will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
