Maria Arrue , 99, of Miami, Fla, formerly of Allentown,
died on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Miami.
Born in Guantanamo, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Augusto & Juana Brage.
Maria met her husband of over 50 years, Rafael E. Arrue who died in 1985, in Cuba. Rafael was in Cuba for his job with the Bethlehem Steel Co. They moved from Cuba to Chile, where they spent many years, then to Allentown.
She was a member of St. Kerrin?s Catholic Church in Miami.
Maria loved music and dancing, she danced at her 99th birthday celebration, going on cruises and cheering for the Florida Marlins. Most of all she loved her family, having lived to see 4 generations of offspring.
Surviving are three daughters, Gladys Zaldivar & Marta Balga both of Miami & Tika, wife of William Lucey of Bethlehem, one son Ralph and his wife Rachael Arrue of West Palm, Fla., one sister Olga Ramos in Miami. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Juanita, Ralph, Martha, Pete, Sam, Ralph, Jr., Robert, Rachele & Michelle. Also are 12 great granchildren and one great great grandchild.
SERVICES
Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Services will begin at 10:30 AM in the funeral home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church at 11:00 AM
Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
