Maria R. Sculley

Maria R. Sculley, of Bethlehem died on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Holy Family Manor.

She was born in Midland, Michigan; daughter of the late Manuel and Paula (Cano) Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Thomas B. Sculley.

Maria proudly served in the US Women's Army Corps during WWII.

She graduated from Liberty High School in 1939 and Bethlehem Business School in 1941. In 1982, she retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 20 years of service as a clerk in the Manifesting Dept.

She enjoyed and was active in the local politics for over 60 years, serving as secretary of Bethlehem Demo City Committee for 38 years and secretary of Lehigh County Demo Committee for 28 years and vice chair for 20 years.

Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Charles "Chuck" and his wife, Denise (Mascornik) Tom and his wife, Bonnie (Persing), Jack and his wife, Suzanne (Ryan) and Pat and his wife, Candy, (Mehalshick) and her grandchildren, Tom, III, Megan, Sara, Rachel, Sean, Colleen, Jackie, Garret and Aron.

Maria was preceded in death by her brothers, Manuel, Feliciano (Pancho) and Joseph (Pep)

and her sisters, Olphilia (Tila)Ybarra, Rachel Lopez, Dolores Luna and Pauline Sechney

The funeral ceremony will be held 12 noon on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem PA 18018. The family will receive friends from 11AM to 12 noon in the funeral home prior to the service. The family invites guests to attend a luncheon at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church 1607 West Union Boulevard Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 1-4 PM.
