Marianne Goodwin

Marianne Goodwin, 80, of Allentown and formerly of Coopersburg died at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 3, 2013. She was born June 7, 1932 in Philadelphia. Marianne was raised in Easton; the daughter of the late John Anthony and Mary Ruppert. She was the devoted wife of58 years, to Dr. John J. Goodwin, Jr., MD.

Marianne was a graduate of Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital Nursing School and worked for Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown prior to dedicating her life to her family.

Marianne was an elegant lady that was devoted to her church, an avid reader and loved to entertain friends and family. She was a strong and genuine person who touched many in a beautiful manner.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, John J. III; Gregory and his wife, Diane; Mark and his wife, Cheryl; Matthew and his wife, Deborah; Thomas and his wife, Debra; Christopher and his wife, Kathleen; Anne Hawley and her husband, Tom; Mary Ritter and her husband, Brad; Paul and his wife, Kim and Joseph and his wife Jennie. Marianne will also be dearly missed by her 23 grandchildren, Amanda, Paula, Adam, Ashley, Nicholas, Jennifer, Timarie, Matthew, Lauren, Andrew, Leah, Heather, Jack, Margaret, Kelsey, Timothy, Taylor, Michael, Nicole, Ryan, Madison, Gracie and Nathan as well as her brother, Jack Ruppert and his wife RoseMarie of Bath.

A visitation will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Monday, April 8, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Another visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church 5050 Saint Joseph Rd. Coopersburg, PA on Tuesday from10:00 to 10:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery Limeport, PA. Marianne would appreciate memorial contributions directed to St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic School 5040 St. Joseph Road Coopersburg, Pa 18036.
