Marianne T. Bitler

February 8, 1943 — January 25, 2011

Marianne T. Bitler, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke?s Hospice House on January 25th.

Marianne was born Feb. 8, 1943 to the late Kenneth D. and Catherine Boyle Bitler.

She was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1961.

She retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 34 years of service.

In her spare time, Marianne enjoyed reading, shopping with her nieces: Amy, Cathy, Marcie and sister-in-law Bridgett. If they said that they were going shopping, she was the first one at the door. She especially enjoyed watching jeopardy with her Great Nephew Joseph Sohara, they had a very special bond.

She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Kenneth J. Bitler and his wife Marcella of Avon Park, Fla, her sister Karen D. Jones of Tucson, AZ., her brother-in-law Richard Girard, Sisters -in-law Bridget Bitler and Karen A. Bitler.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Marcella. B. Sohara, Kenneth D. Bitler II and his wife Joan, Catherine B. Lee, Donna B. Gallagher and her husband Timothy, Philip Girard and his wife Lisa, Amy G. Black and her husband Jonathan, Janine B. Reppert and her husband Tim, Robert M. Bitler and his wife Erin, Carly Bitler and many great nieces and nephews.

Special Friends Lorraine Malevich, Joanne and Gary Bachman, Sandy Brunell, Carole Engler, Judy Bees and Ron and Roe Boucher plus many more friends too numerous to mention.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Mildred M. Girard and her brothers; Donald F. Bitler and Robert R. Bitler and her special niece Bridgett Bitler.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Doctors and staff of St. Luke?s Hospital, with a special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Jahre. Also the staff at St. Luke?s Hospice House where they cared for her with dignity and respect.

Marianne will also be sorely missed by her beloved cats Jack and Mia Bella.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
