Marie E. Ruth

Marie E. Ruth, 92, of Bethlehem died Wednesday March 30, 2011, at Moravian Village in Bethlehem. She was born on June 27, 1918 in Bethlehem, daughter of the late Robert T. and Mary K. Johnston. She was the wife of the late William E. Ruth Jr.

Marie worked as a secretary for the Bethlehem School District and Notre Dame Catholic Church where she was also a member. She graduated from Liberty High School 1936. She loved to knit, read, do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Her most important job was being a good wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, William R. Ruth and wife Sherry of Estes Park, Co., daughter, Maryanne wife of Robert Mitchell of Bethlehem, sister, Anna G. Johnston of Bethlehem, grandchildren, Stacey wife of Richard Spering, Chris and fiance Dr. Katie Story, and Greg and wife Chrissy Mitchell, and great granddaughter, Madison.

She was predeceased by brothers Maurice T. Johnston, and Robert J. Johnston.

Service will be held 10:15AM Saturday April 2, 2011 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, Pa. Calling hours will be held from 9-10:15Am Saturday morning at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
