Marie Evans

Marie Evans, formerly of Bethlehem, died peacefully at her son's home in Houston, TX at the age of 85 on Monday, July 1, 2013.

Born in Allentown in 1928, she was the daughter of Jeremiah and Anna (Kostic) Mahoney. She married John J. Evans in 1951. Before retiring in 1990, Marie was employed by Sure Fit as a cloth examiner for 23 years. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Marie moved to Houston, TX in 2004 to live with her son.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John on July 1, 2001 and both of her sisters, Margaret Withrow and Rosella Stokes.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, J.J. and his wife, Bridget of Houston, TX.

A viewing will be held on Saturday July 6 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. An 11 a.m. funeral service will follow with burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
