Marie P. Eberhardt

Marie P. Eberhardt, 91, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, April 13, 2012. She was born in Austria-Hungary, daughter of the late Stephen and Julia (Schuster) Stoisits. She was the wife of the late Joseph "Slim" Eberhardt who died in 1990.

Marie was the owner and operator of the former Eberhardt Grocery Store, Miller Heights, from 1955 to 1970. She also owned and operated the former Peacock Hotel, Freemansburg, from 1970 to 1976. She was a long time and faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Miller Heights.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jeanette wife of, Steven Janda of Victorville, CA; grandsons, Neil Eberhardt and wife, Barbara of Northampton, Joe Eberhardt and wife, Emily of Bethlehem, and Jason Janda and wife, Autumn of Victorville, CA; great-grandchildren, Jack, Jacob and Claire Eberhardt, and Kaylee Janda; sisters, Emma Skrobanek and Stella Lang, both of Allentown. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph "Bouncer" Eberhardt and sister, Theresa Falcone.

Viewing hours will be held, in the funeral home, on Sunday, April 15th from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. A 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 1st St. Bethlehem Township. Interment will be in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton.
