Marie Petro

Marie Petro, 86, of Bethlehem died Saturday March 7, 2009 at the Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem. She was born on March 26, 1922 in Oneida, Pa. , daughter of the late John and Ella Washko Mikitka. She was the wife of Michael Petro. They celebrated 63 years of marriage on January 26th.

Marie worked in the sewing department for Laros Silk Mills for 15 years retiring in 1972. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Michael, sons, Michael G. Petro and wife Susan of West Norriton, Pa., and John J. Petro and wife Ruthann of Bethlehem, daughter, Joanne M. Long wife of Roger of Bethlehem, sisters, Julia Molnar and Helen Kereczman both of Bethlehem, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandsons.

She was predeceased by brothers, John, Peter, Michael, Joseph and James.

Panichida will be held Thursday March 12, 2009 at 9:15AM at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by Office of Christian Burial 10AM at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church 1140 Johnston Dr. Bethlehem, Pa. 18017. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 8-9:15AM at the funeral home.
