Marie T. Kovacs

Marie T. Kovacs passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home at the age of 95. Born on November 27, 1926 in Bethlehem, PA she was the daughter of the late Francis T. and Theresa (Evert) Hagerty. She was the loving wife of the late William F. Kovacs.

Marie was mother to Kathleen, Patricia, Thomas and James. She raised her children with love and devotion along with her husband, William. Marie was a member of St. Ursula's Catholic Church. She loved lending a helping hand to various organizations. She was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School and later helped organize many class reunions. Baking, reading, ceramics and stain glass brought Marie great joy.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Patricia A. Lansek, wife of the late William Lansek; sons, Thomas Kovacs and his wife, Antonette and James Kovacs and his wife, Deborah; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Kovacs, grandson, James Kovacs, Jr., and brothers, Thomas and Larry Hagerty.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Calling will also be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 10-10:30 a.m. at St. Ursula Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Fountain Hill, PA 18015 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
