Marjorie A. Frey

Marjorie A. Frey, of Bethlehem and formerly of Westfield, NJ, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospice House, Bethlehem. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Eleanor (Dotter) Morgan. She was the loving wife of the late William Frey Sr who died in 1960.

She graduated from Rider University with a Bachelors degree in education. During WWII she served as personal secretary/stenographer to the Army battalion commander in Florida and also taught children in a rural Tyler, Texas school. After the war, she was a housewife and mother of three boys. Following her husbands untimely passing, she became an elementary school teacher in Westfield, NJ, also earning a Masters degree plus 30 credits before retiring after 25 years. She was loved by the children she taught, but more so by her children and grandchildren to whom she showed much appreciated love and attention. She was a talented still-life oil painting artist and enjoyed many other crafts such as needlepoint. Marjorie was a devout Catholic all her life and in her later years a member of Ss. Simon & Jude Church, Bethlehem.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Douglas Frey PhD and wife, Pat (Baranowsky), William Frey PhD and wife, Joan Dubois-Frey, daughter-in-law, Carol (Lynn) Frey, wife of Marjories late son, Craig, and Marjories six grandchildren, Lindsay, Adam, Brooke, Brad, Jonathan and Rebecca.

A visitation will be held in the Ss. Simon & Jude Church, 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, on Thursday August 29 from 10 to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Lukes Hospice, Attn: Development Office, 801 Ostrum St. Bethlehem, PA 18015.
